List of local closures due to COVID-19

Many area activities have been cancelled, especially large venues where crowds are expected. If you are not sure of cancellations or closings, contact the business or office prior to visiting these establishments. Below is a list of local closures and helpful tips.

Calico Rock School district will have meals that will be provided for students Tuesday through Friday of this week from 10:00 to 11:00 am for any Calico Rock students. Please call the elementary office at 870-297-8533 to place an order by 9:00 am each day or you can place your order for the entire week.   Please inform the person answering your call of any known food allergies. Meals will be available for pick up at the elementary “Big Tree” door.  No one will be allowed inside the building.

Starting Tuesday March 17th the Izard County Medical Center will be screening each person that enters our doors. You will be required to have your temperature taken and answer a questionnaire before being allowed into the Clinic, Emergency Department, Admissions, or Physical Therapy. If you would like to pay a bill please call Cheri at 870-297-2449. The Business Office will be closed to Visitors.
There will No Visitors allowed in the Hospital. Patients will have access to room phones, you can call the Nurses desk at 297-2436 and be transferred to your friend or family to check on them.
Please do not bring children into the Clinic unless the child is sick and needs to be seen.

If you are home bound or you are quarantined and need medications or groceries, as a result of the coronavirus, you can call the Sheriff’s Department, 870-368-4203, and we will do what we can to get them to you.

If you are unwell or if you have a fragile health condition and do not want to enter the store, Mitchell’s Park Street Pharmacy will be happy to bring your medicines to your vehicle. To use our curbside pickup, call the store at 870-297-8107.

In an effort to meet the needs of our students this week we will be utilizing blessing boxes located at Grace Fellowship Church in Dolph and the Cumberland Presbyterian Churches in Pineville and Calico Rock.  If your child is in need of essential food items, please feel free to visit these boxes and take only what you need.  If you are in a position to leave items to help please do so.

ALL Arkansas schools and all school related activities have been canceled or postponed at this time.

Calico Rock city parks are closed until further notice.

Calico Rock City Hall and the Community Room will be closed to the public, effective immediately, until further notice. If you would like to make a payment you may do so utilizing our online payment option at diversifiedbillpay.com or you may call 1-855-212-9884. You may also drop your payment into the receptacle located at City Hall. If you need assistance or have questions you may call 297-3772.

The Calico Rock Museum & Visitor Center is closed now until March 28th.

Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Offices are closed to the public through March 30.

Izard County Senior Center is closed through the end of March.

The Izard County District Court will be postponed until May 7, 2020. If you have any questions please call the District Judge’s office at 870-368-4390.

Effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020, the Calico Rock Library will be closed to the public until further notice. The book return will be open for patrons to return items if they wish. No late fees will be assessed during this time.

All patients and visitors to area hospitals will be temperature screened at specified entrances before they will be granted access into facilities. In the interest of keeping patients safe and in preparation for COVID-19, all non-essential visitors at area hospitals are suspended from entering the facility until further notice.

Calico Rock VFW Dances are cancelled until further notice.

WASH will be cancelled for this week, March 18th.

First baptist church Calico Rock will not have in-person services until further notice. Working on a live version.

Spring River Art Galley has determined that the Gallery will be closed for the rest of March and possibly part of April.  Everyone, please take care of yourselves during this virus scare and we will see you for the new season in a month or so.  Watch this paper for the opening announcement.  We are also available at wwwspringriverartistsguild.com and on Facebook. First Impact Foundation Crash Reenactment event scheduled for 10am next Wednesday March 18th at ASUMH it has been advised that postpone the event. The reenactment will be tentatively rescheduled for April 22nd 2020 at 10am and remain on the ASUMH Campus.
The Private Applicator Training Session that was to be held in Izard County on Thursday March 19 in the Melbourne Community Center located at City Hall behind Ozarka College in Melbourne has been cancelled. Re-certification and (New) first timer training is available online. To access the online training, visit www.uaex.edu/pat.
