Astronomer/Astrophotographer Dr. Paul Sugg Solar Eclipse Presentation  at The Nook, March 20

By Patricia Kilpatrick

Calico Rock is embarking upon a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the upcoming Solar Eclipse. On April 8 between the hours of 12 and 3 pm, Calico Rock will be in total darkness for over 4 minutes due to the Moon blocking the Sun.

What does all this mean? How does it happen?

Paul Sugg knows. He has made his life’s work studying the universe’s stars and planets. He even built his own observatory on the Bluff of Calico Rock.

Luckily, Dr. Sugg is generous with his knowledge and will give us a presentation about this phenomenon at The Nook on March 20 at 6 pm.

The presentation is free and open to the public. The Nook is located on Peppersauce Alley behind the Calico Rock Museum. There is plenty of parking and there is a ramp up to the doors of The Nook.

Get there early because space is limited, and you don’t want to miss this!
