Cumberland Cross Returning to Music Hall
The local group, Cumberland Cross, is scheduled for a return performance this Saturday evening, April 10th, at the Calico Rock Music Hall. The musical style of this talented group reflects the influences of traditional bluegrass with the sounds of Emmylou Harris, John Denver, and Johnny Cash. . . .with the personal flair of the group immediately evident in their performances. A creative blend of classic gospel, bluegrass gospel, and classic country fills their set list, showcasing each band member’s talent and a variety of vocals and harmony.
The group originated from playing together at church. . .the Trimble Campground Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Dolph. Members include Jana Cowgill from Mtn Home and Dave Williams from Dolph on guitar and lead vocals, Susie Williams of Dolph on fiddle, mandolin and vocals, Jim Freeman of Dolph on dobro and vocals, Jan Freeman of Dolph on autoharp and vocals, Jim Shell of Elizabeth on banjo, Darlis Cowgill of Dolph on bass guitar and vocals, Lee Cowgill of Dolph on vocals, and Jason Shell of Elizabeth on lead guitar.
The Music Hall is located in the historic Methodist church building at the junction of state highways 56 and 5 in Calico Rock. Doors open at 6:30 PM with the show beginning at 7:00 PM.
