CRHS Student succumbs to injuries

Samuel Speak, who was paralyzed earlier this month in a rodeo accident, has died. Samuel was injured at a rodeo in Green Forest June 6. He was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield that night and underwent surgery.
Speak had two vertebrae in his neck broken and another fractured when a horse stepped on him after he was thrown while bronc riding.
Speak played basketball and started participating in rodeos after school over for the summer. The community is morning his loss.
No funeral arrangements have been announced at this time.
