Norfork Pioneer Days this weekend

Head on out to Norfork this weekend for a small town spring time celebration. This annual event, hosted by the city of Norfork, along with the Jacob Wolf House and the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, is held Friday, May 16th and Saturday May 17th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday visitors will be able to experience 1820’s Living History tours, historical demonstrations, along with reenactors in camps at the Wolf House, firing of a cannon throughout the day, a 38-foot replica of a 1820’s keel boat, vendors, food, and much more.
There will be booths setup around City Hall where food and drinks, hand-made arts, crafts, home goods, jewelry, clothing, signs, knives, baked goods and kettle corn will be on sale.
Saturday will begin with the Norfork Auxiliary Pancake Breakfast, followed by the annual Pioneer Day Parade featuring Grand Marshall Eddie Mae alexander, on Hwy 5 at 10am. The days festivities also include a pie eating contest, tug of war, 1v1 soccer, a bounce house, the Mountain man Life Chainsaw Carving Show and at 3pm there will be a duck race on the White River. To purchase ducks for the duck race visit Norfork City Hall or the duck booth, the cost for the ducks is 1 for $3, 2 for $5, 4 for $10 or 10 for $20.
