Simino announces run for County Judge

Mark Simino has announced his candidacy for the office of Izard County Judge, emphasizing infrastructure, fiscal responsibility, transparency, and emergency preparedness as central priorities for his campaign.
My name is Mark Simino, and I am announcing my candidacy for the office of Izard County Judge. My campaign will focus on infrastructure, fiscal responsibility, transparency in the use of taxpayer revenue, and improved emergency preparedness.
“We all rely on safe roads and bridges. As County Judge, maintaining and improving infrastructure will be a priority because it supports safe travel, emergency response, and economic growth.”
I am seeking the office of County Judge because I believe Izard County needs effective leadership rooted in direction, integrity, and accountability. I have witnessed firsthand the need for county officials who communicate clearly, manage public resources responsibly, and answer to the people they serve.
As a Justice of the Peace, I have worked directly with county issues and have seen areas that need closer attention, including how grant funding is handled, where funds are directed, and who benefits. Transparency and accountability for every dollar of public revenue require county government to be open, documented, and accessible to the public.
My experience and leadership include service in the United States Army Airborne, with overseas tours in Korea and the Persian Gulf.
I also have 10 years of experience as a local and over-the-road Class A commercial truck operator, with hands-on experience in equipment maintenance and fuel management.
I have more than 20 years of experience in law enforcement, corrections, and related leadership roles, and I have also worked as a private business owner and farmer.
I am a resident of Calico Rock, a husband, a father of three married adult children, and blessed with two wonderful grandchildren.
When it comes to the county budget, changes and amendments often occur without clear public explanation. I want to ensure budget changes are discussed openly in public meetings, documented in the minutes, and fully available for public inspection. Transparency in financial decisions is essential to earning and maintaining public trust.
Thank you and God Bless
Mark Simino
