Foul play indicated in body found at Moccasin Creek

An autopsy of the man whose dead body was found in Moccasin Creek indicates foul play was involved.

According to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), Rickey Joe Millsap’s of Mountain Home’s autopsy report indicated that foul play was involved in his death which is now proceeding as a homicide investigation.

The BCSO have been actively investigating the death since Millsap’s body was discovered floating in Moccasin Creek on August 15.

According to the press release from BCSO, Millsap had not been seen since August 9 but had not been reported missing.

Due to the ongoing criminal investigation, additional details cannot be released at this time.

Law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation are the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas State Police, Mountain Home PD, and the Izard County Sheriff’s Office.   Anyone having information concerning the death of Rickey Joe Millsap is asked to contact the BCSO Criminal Investigation Division.
