WRC to begin coverage of Salesville community news

In an ongoing effort to keep readers informed on community news and events, the White River Current will soon expand coverage to include the nearby town of Salesville.

To this end, the Current is pleased to introduce the newest member of its team, Ms. Peggy Pearson, who will begin covering Salesville city council meetings with the upcoming November regular meeting.

Recaps of the meeting proceedings will appear in the following week’s edition of the paper. Those who in the past have been, for some reason, unable to attend council meetings will soon have the ability to keep up with what their elected officials are doing to serve the community.

Ms. Pearson will also be available to cover other events, meetings and activities of importance and interest to the residents of Salesville and the surrounding area.

The Current has for years regularly covered the council meetings of both Calico Rock and Norfork.  The addition of Salesville will soon allow visibility into local government affairs for residents there as well.

Subscriptions to the print version to the White River Current are sent by regular mail each week at a cost of only $29.00 per year in county, or $ 39.00 for out-of-county subscribers.  Online only subscriptions cost only $20.00 per year or come free with a paid print subscription.

To subscribe, all one need do is to access the WRC website at www.whiterivercurrent.com , click on the Subscribe button and follow the prompts from there to pay with a credit card.  There is also an option to subscribe for a 60-day free trial of online access if one wishes to check it out for a time before setting up an ongoing subscription.

For those who prefer to pick up a paper themselves while they are out and about, vending machines are located at the Y Store in Salesville as well as at Two Rivers Market in Norfork.  More machines will be deployed at additional locations as they become available.

The Current has served the community since 1974 covering western Izard County and eastern Baxter County, continually striving to remain relentlessly local in its news coverage.
