Heat Advisory for our area this week

The Twin Lakes area is experiencing dangerous heat levels this week, with temperatures climbing well into the upper 90s and heat index values exceeding 105 degrees.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory, warning residents of increased health risks due to prolonged exposure and physical activity in the high temperatures. The excessive heat is expected to continue through the weekend.

Local health officials urge residents to take precautions, including staying indoors during peak afternoon hours, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding strenuous outdoor activity.

Heat-related illnesses, such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke, can develop quickly. Symptoms may include dizziness, nausea, rapid pulse, confusion, and unconsciousness. Anyone experiencing these symptoms should seek immediate medical attention.
